The first question that I have for you is, what state are you located in? The SOL (statute of limitations laws for various states) vary so your state will be important in answering your legal question. If you want to look it up real quick, you can find the various states' statues here on the site: Legal Help - Legal Advice - Statute of Limitations for Each of the 50 States and Washington, D.C.

For example, in the state of Texas, the statute of limitations for property damage or a personal injury claim in Texas would be 2 years, on the other hand, statute of limitations for a breach of contract in Texas would be 4 years.

Before you consider filing some kind of a lawsuit against someone, you can first consider getting a Legal free consultation from an accident lawyer or whatever kind of law firm you need specifically. When you do this, you'll be able to find out the statute of limitations as well as all the other things regarding your specific legal case. Some legal firms provide free consultation. Submit your information to them directly and get more information.
