    Will a bankruptcy stop the phone calls?

    I have been receiving a lot of calls from creditors. If I file for bankruptcy will the phone calls stop? They are getting more and more frequent and some are bordering on harassment.

    Yes the phone calls will stop. Once you file for bankruptcy, you will get an automatic stay on all your debts and the creditors are not allowed to contact you.

    My father filed for bankruptcy and afterward he still got calls from one particular company. Should he have done something about that? He thought it was strange it was just one company that called.
