    Alcoholism

I worked for a fortune 800 company for 26 years. This Corporation sold nothing but alcohol. I rose through the rankes in sales and marketing and we were always encouraged to run drininng promotions, buy patrons drinks, and of course consume our own products in facilities that bought our products. After 26 years of this i could not excape alcohol and still fight it today at the age of 53. I have gone through a 4 month rehabilitation and graduated however still face daily temptation to drink. My question is do I have a case against that Corporation for making me this way?

    Interesting question.
If your employer were exposing you to asbestos or some other known harmful carcinogen, there is precedent for recovery against both the employer and the manufacturer of the substance. I know of no instance in which alcohol has been categorized in this way. For whatever reason, although alcohol has some really undesireable effects, it is not treated the same as other substances in this category. There may be a cause of action in this type of case some day, but currently, it is a novel concept.
