    Bill pay through mail

I had a utility bill due Dec. 6th. I had it post marked Nov. 29th 6 business days before it was due. They specifically state on the bill allow 5-7 business days which I did. They claim they did not recieve the bill until Dec. 8th which is 2 days after it was due and 10 business days after I had mailed the letter. I have a late fee and they will not remove the charge since they are not at fault for how long the mail takes, nor do they go by when it was post marked. Who is in the wrong??

I believe they are in the wrong. Many companies look at the date the payment was postmarked. Also, you followed their instructions for sending it within the time frame specified.
