    My Rights

I have a vehicle that meets the lemon law criteria in my state. I contacted a contingency law firm at no cost to me at this point. They have my very basic personal info and my truck VIN. They have nothing in writing from me and are very vague as to what my settlement options will be. I only would accept a full buy back or a brand new similar vehicle from the manufacturer. Do I have to accept a settlement I am not satisfied with? or pay the lawyers fee if I don't accept the settlement? The lawyer sent me a packet telling me to only contact them and If I speak with the manufacturer I can be liable for all attorneys fees. I want some real answers from the lawyers at this point but they have already started a suit with my VIN. Am a committed at this point? It seems like the lawyer is being very vague and won't answer my questions or return my calls until they get their packet back with my signature. I have signed nothing yet but they have started suit. Thanks

You are likely liable for some amount of fees for consultation etc.. they have already undertaken for you. It sounds like they are advising you they will charge for work already performed if you attempt to move forward without them. Your level of commitment is hard to gauge. I would ask them how much you owe them, if you bail at this point. I don't understand why you did not attempt to pursue this yourself initially.
