    Sue for online review

I sued a contractor for improper installation of my roof. I lost the case. I have reported the contractor online at ripoffreport.com. They now have a lawyer saying they are going to sue me for $36,000 for slanderous comments. Can they do this? Can I be sued for writing a review online?

Can you be sued? Yes. You can be sued for almost anything. However, that does not mean the other party has a case. Unfortunately you will likely need to hire an attorney to represent you in case that you do get sued. There are frivolous lawsuits filed all the time. This seems to be a threat of one of them as you have a first amendment constitutional right to your opinion and to publish it online.

I think its not a good thing because you posted it yourself and if someone give the review of it then its not a challaging step.

What did the lawyer say when they contacted you? What was the wording they used?
