    Legal Assistance

A few weeks ago I was charged with 4th degree destruction of property for making the dumb mistke of punching out a tail light at the bar. This is a first time offense of any kind for me other then speeding. I paid restitution before my court date, checked into in- patient treatment for depression. I also started to see a therapist. When I went to my court date, I was charged wit a misdemeanor and got put on a no-contact for a year. The person who I am in no contact with is a friend, and we had talked up until the court date. She was not informed of the no contact and has said she wouldnt want the no contact in place. I was not able to tell the judge of the therapy or treatment I went to to show that this is a one time mistake that will not happen again, and I feel the punishment does not fit the crime. I am wondering what else there is that I can do. Thanks

    Nick

Was there a trial, did you plead guilty? What exactly happened on this court date? You can have your friend request to lift the no contact order.

If you plead guilty, the parties over. The bill is here.
