    DUI and DUS penalties

I am currently under a non compliance suspension. However, I was granted driving privileges from the court. My final court date for that is Monday- and everything has been completed- I am thinking I will only have to pay the court costs and that case will be over. However, I was recently pulled over and charged with a DUI. Can someone advise if I will be able to get those driving privileges back? I unfortunately submitted to the field sobriety and breathalyzer tests- to my disadvantage. As well, if someone can advise as to what the typical penalties are for a first time OVI offense?

KatrinaS, can you tell me what you received your DUI? DUI laws in all 50 states are varied and hence someone will be able to give you the best answer by knowing what state you're located in and where you got your dwi.

You might be wondering: Are field sobriety tests mandatory in my state? This is something that might come up because of how it appears you were noncompliant with a field sobriety test in the first instance, but with your second offense which may turn out to be your first DUI offense, it appears that you complied with the field sobriety test. This is where a good dui lawyer in your state could come in very helpful. An experienced dui attorney would be able to guide you through the process and let you know very clearly of the options available to you in your situation.

Also, how was the field dui sobriety test administered in the 2nd instance?
