    Legay rights

My 18 year old daughter has been detained (arrested?) for helping her boyfriend try to stab/kidnapped my daughters friend. Do we as parents have any rights as to find out just what is going on. We have not spoke with her since this happened and as far as we know she has not asked for a lawyer. Do we have any rights???
