    They are likely bringing that evidence up as character evidence or possibly for other reasons I don't believe it is slander (unless they are knowingly lying). Although, it is interesting to note that a witness in the Casey Anthony trial is suing her attorneys for defamation. If you want to be absolutely sure, you should consult with a local attorney.
