    If you are an at-will employee, the answer is probably yes. Absent some other consideration (e.g., minimum wage, overtime), your employer can unilaterally reduce the compensation of an at-will employee.

    In contrast, if you are covered by a collective bargaining agreement or an individual employment contract, the answer is probably no.

    They must advise you of the impending cut before you work the hours in question or they must pay you the prior rate, up to that point. If you have a CBA, it would be in accord with the contract or voted modifications.

    In some regions some guys have rights to cut the salary but i think its too much,
