    independent contractor agreement gone crazy

    i have been an employee at a company for 4 years they are in financial hardship and want me to sign a independent contractor so they dont have to pay taxes and unemployment ins. and workmens comp. i dont think its legal . i am just a auto tech and it has clause in it that if i get hurt at work they are not responsible for any injurys

    I don't believe what they are doing is illegal. They are allowed to hire independent contractors. They can even fire you first as en employee if they wish and then offer to give you a position as an independent contractor.
