    payment issues

My husband paints houses for a living. He just got done w/ an 11day job, and is now being told that he will only be paid for 9 of the days. They dont deny they he was there and did the work, but say thay he didnt do the job to there standards yet signed off on the job as complet. I need to know being that its a cash paying job what are our options to get this taken care of and not get screwed in the end. Any help is appreciated.

I would recommend consulting with an attorney or trying to collect payment by taking this matter to small claims court. If everything is in writing and you have proof of their sign off, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to collect the 11 days that you are owed.

Your advice sounds great but I had a similiar issue of non payment from an employer and took it to small claims court, won the judgement but they haven't paid and I'm told by various court personnel that I would be lucky if I got paid because there is no real enforcement in place. Why? Why bother to even proceed with a small claims case in the first place then? Why don't I have any recourse?

There are a number of ways to collect judgment from a small claims court order, depending on the state.
