    Is it true that by the age of 18 you are legally able to move out of your parents house and the parents can not do anything about it?

    In AK, Yes. They can also take actions to legally evict you.

    For some reason, most jurisdictions consider children NOT emancipated until the age of 21, generally. Sooo, you may emancipate yourself by moving out but you can also un-emancipate yourself by moving back in prior to the age of 21 if the parents allow you to do so.

    The "Age of Majority" in most states is 18, so barring any legal surprises, if it is 18 in your state, yes, you can move out.
