    Visitation, Cook County, IL

I am a father of a minor child, age 3. His mother is extremely verbally abusive every time we exchange our son. Is there any way to petition for my son to be dropped off/picked up for visits through a third party such as a family member or friend? I have stopped seeing my son recently due to the abuse being so bad and I don't want him seeing it.

Also, I am concerned that my daughters mother (Not a natural born US citizen) will attempt to take our son back to her home land. Is there any way I can stop her from ever taking my son out of the country?

Additional info: Divorce is currently pending in Cook County Court. There is not a parenting agreement, divorce decree or visitation order in place as of yet. I do not currently have an attorney.

Thank you in advance for any advice you may have.

The first thing you need to do is hire a divorce attorney. It may be possible to have an arrangement in the visitation order which would involve a third party. If you think your child is going to be taken to another country, you need to get an order in place prohibiting it. Otherwise there is nothing preventing a parent from traveling with her own child.
