guardianship possible in wa state when there are POA's

Wa state, currently waiting on reply from lawyer regarding this matter however would like some insight
MY father is 100% disabled, has dementia, been deemed unable to care for himself and unable to make decisions by drs and psychiatrist. currently in a care facility here in wa state however threatening to leave constantly and have aunt in So CA not helping but egging him on and fighting me to get him out of there with no intention of taking care of him. Im medical POA she is financial POA...she lives in so ca dad and i are in Wa makes things difficult especially if there is something my dad wants or needs and i do not have money for it.
Been told by several social workers and drs that a guardianship is necessary and vital however do not know how or if its even possible when there are poa's already in place. i am ready and willing to pursue this i just want to know what im getting myself into as far a fight is concerned
