    best course of action

I have been divorced from my ex now for ten years. She is the custodial parent but we have joint custody of our 2 girls. A little over a year ago she called me asking if the girls could live with me for the remainder of that school yearand ofcourse I said yes. I kept them, supporing them with out any financial help from her at all. Mean while she was out and in a relationship with a convicted sex offenderof a minor girl. After I brought the girls back to her. Three weeks later she drops them off at my parents asking if they can stay there. Not letting me know anything at all. When I found out I quickly moved back to Florida so that my girls could have some stability in there lives. My ex is no longer dating the sex offender to my knowledge but still has no steady resistance or steady employment. My question is this how do I protect my daughters from her inconsistency in visitation and keep her from picking them up and leaving with them. I am concerned about there safety when they are with her but I also don't want my girls to grow up without a mother. Any advice is greatly needed..

You can try to talk to her to see if she will give you full custody. You can also request full custody in a child custody hearing but will likely need to show a change of circumstances in order for that to happen. You can also have a set schedule where you visit your daughters and your wife will have to abide by a court order allowing such visitation.
