    Board game into Flash game

I am beginning to create an Adobe Flash game based off of Parker Brothers' "Lakeside DUELL". Parker Brothers is currently a subsidiary of Hasbro. This game might be sold and distributed online. I am wondering how to obtain the rights to recreate the game in a digital format, and if the price is too high to obtain the rights, how much must I alter the game for it to be legal?

    Have you contacted Hasbro?

It would be wise to get a good, young patent attorney. There are intellectual property lawyers who have a better understanding of this.

Thank you for your help! I'll try that! (though I'm not really sure how I'm going to find a lawyer)

Why not patent an improvement to the game and have THEM license YOUR technology??
Know about the Provisional Application for Patent that you can get immediately for only $65 (micro entity status) from the USPTO?
Take a look at the link below as well as take advantage of the free NDA that you can modify for your use...

If a provisional application for patent looks like the right thing for you to do then take a look at another website that shows EXACTLY how to file one using a video format.

For answers most folks in YahooAnswers LOVE see Videos how it all works
    Patent

Act QUICK because there is some crazy lawyer out there who HATES when I give useful answers and marks my questions for deletion! Then, Yahoo UNDELETES the answer and DEMERITS their account..

PM me with questions... I will answer... You will ALSO find my email in my profile.

If this is your FIRST patent and you are not filing with a company name and you, or ANY of your Co-Inventors, did not make more than $150,000 LAST year AND the rights in the application been NOT been promised or licensed to a non-micro-entity then you likely qualify for the 75% reduction in USPTO fees with the Micro-Entity-Status at the Patent Office.

    See this USPTO page.
