    lease agreement

I moved into my home in Jan of 2010 the lease expired Feb 2011 no new lease was created and according to the lease it is a 30 day notice to vacate the premises but the landlord is now stating that the lease automatically renews, is this true?

What state is this in? Generally if a lease is not renewed and the landlord does not force the tenant to move out, a periodic tenancy is created (month to month lease usually with 30 days notice to vacate is created. I do not believe that the original lease is renewed.

I would think if the lease renewed then you would have to sign it again. Are you wanting to renew your lease? You need to talk to your landlord and find out if you need to sign the new lease. I would want to see it and have a copy too.

That does not really sound right to me. I would think you would have to acknowledge the lease renewing on paper. You are only signing a contract for the dates you have agreed upon.
