    Please help

I own a co-op apartment in Larchmont NY since 198 and have been unemployed since Nov 2010.
I tried to maintain my bills till a few months ago. I am working with the bank holding the mortgage but the co-op management company is evicting me and I have a court hearing date for May 15 7pm. I need to know how to postpone this till the bank has time to work on paying the maintenance charges that are in arrears. I have spoke to a housing counselor and she told be to contact legal aid as to my rights in this situation. please tell me if someone can contact the lawyers taking me to court to take possession of my apartment within days and postpone the court hearing until the bank can help me.

    thank you

    Karen

If you are looking for legal aid or a pro bono lawyer, contact your local BAR association and ask them for a referral to a free legal clinic. You can also try contacting local law schools in your area to see if they have any clinics of their own that can help you.
