My boyfriend was issued a citation under Iowa code 321. 321.387 to be exact. It's basically for having smoked tail lights which do come factory standard on a 1999 Cobra Mustang that he has. He went to the court house to set up a date to dispute the ticket and we have pictures showing that they are clearly visible from 500 ft. and aren't breaking the law in anyway. He and his father have also known the judge for quite some time and he had told them that if they got a statement from a Ford dealership saying that they do come factory issued he should have no problem winning the case. But while we were looking at the citation this morning, we noticed that the license plate registered on the citation, is in fact not the same license plate registered to his vehicle. What does this mean? Grounds for dismissal maybe?
