    Inaccurate Law on Film and Television

    What are your favorite examples of inaccurate law and criminal procedures on television and in movies? I think Law & Order Special Victims Unit is one example of a show with tons of inaccuracies.

    Actually, I do not believe that any of them are totally accurate. Most shows take liberties for dramatic effects. It's called entertainment value. I don't mind. I'd rather watch Perry Mason get the bad guy his way than see the boring rigors of reality.

    I totally agree and I don't mind the inaccuracies for the sake of entertainment. Unfortunately a lot of people take it seriously and believe that TV reflects reality. I know some people who actually believe that if you ask a cop if they are a cop they have to tell you they are. People think what they want to think I guess.

    I am okay forsaking completely accurate law for entertainment value. I love that the cops in some of these shows get away with so much. They also make it look so easy to get a murderer behind bars. Such little evidence is shown in some of these court dramas yet the murderer is behind bars.

    I totally agree and I don't mind the inaccuracies for the sake of entertainment,so everyone please support and active participation. Legal issues come in many forms and if you take offense or become indignant, then it might be a good idea to get more involved in the legal profession.
